Bert Mobley moved to Highlands full-time in 2003, following a lifelong desire to live in the mountains. Born in Waynesboro, Georgia, Bert is a graduate of Davidson College and enjoyed a ten-year career as an English teacher and distance coach at Marist School in Atlanta, as well as shorter stints at Whitefield Academy and the University of Georgia.
At various times during his life, he has spent significant time in St. Andrews, Scotland, as well as Colorado and Switzerland. He believes this special area of the world, with its inherent beauty and sophisticated culture, should be shared with like-minded people.
Whether a little cabin in the woods, a mansion at the top of a mountain or an investment property to help fund future dreams, Bert believes the Highlands/Cashiers Plateau lifestyle is magical. B
ert enjoys running the streets and trails of the area, makes his way to many, if not most, Georgia football games, and loves to head somewhere with lots of snow for a couple of ski trips a year.
